A bit about me, Mason Thomas
Howdy!
I’m Mason, a software engineer at Rivian & Volkswagen Technologies in Palo Alto, California. Professionally I spend my time developing systems to ensure high reliability and performance across the Rivian, Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche brands of vehicles.
What I’m into right now
I intend for this section of the site to be living and change as I try and explore new things.
Adventures
After my last summer internship, I wanted to try living as adventoursly as possible. I realized how much more fun life can be when you try and life live as much as possible. Whenever I have the chance, I try and go on as many adventures as I can with the people around me.
Exploring SF
Since I’ve moved to the bay, I’ve tried to spend as much time as possible exploring the city and everything it has to offer. Growing up in a small town, I’ve never gotten to experience a city as much as I have now, so I’m playing 21 years of catch up.
Some background
Before moving out to California, I grew up in a small town in Texas in the Houston area. At this point, all I knew about my life was that I wanted to become a software engineer professionally. I was deeply interested in everything relating with computers, with all the associated interests that come with that. With that path in mind, I moved to the Dallas area to complete my B.S. in Computer Science at the University of Texas at Dallas. During my last summer at UTD, I got an internship at RV Tech, where I have since returned for full time employment.
