A bit about me, Mason Thomas

Howdy!

I'm Mason, a software engineer at Rivian & Volkswagen Technologies in Palo Alto, California. Professionally I spend my time developing systems to ensure high reliability and performance across the Rivian, Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche brands of vehicles.

Personally, I enjoy camping with friends, tinkering and making new things, and I'm constantly trying to learn new skills.

Some background

Before moving out to California, I grew up in a small town in Texas in the Houston area. At this point, all I knew about my life was that I wanted to become a software engineer professionally. I was deeply interested in everything relating with computers, with all the associated interests that come with that. With that path in mind, I moved to the Dallas area to complete my B.S. in Computer Science at the University of Texas at Dallas. During my last summer at UTD, I got an internship at RV Tech, where I have since returned for full time employment.
